Additional Veterinary Services

At La Plaza Veterinary Clinic, we go beyond routine check-ups to provide a full range of services that support your pet’s complete health and wellness. These additional offerings are designed to make your experience more convenient while giving your pet the best care possible.

Below is a list of Additional Services we offer

We believe that no pet should have to live in pain. Whether your pet is recovering from surgery, experiencing chronic arthritis, or facing a medical condition, we offer safe and effective pain relief tailored to their needs.

Our pain management services include:

  • Anti-inflammatory and pain-relief medications

  • Laser therapy

  • Joint supplements

  • Mobility support for aging pets

Managing pain not only improves comfort—it enhances quality of life and helps your pet stay active and engaged.

Our team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians provides many services at our clinic, ranging from routine to advanced procedures. Although we handle the majority of your pet’s medical and surgical needs in-house, we occasionally refer patients to veterinary specialists or specialty clinics when advanced training or equipment will be beneficial.

Board-certified specialists, such as oncologists, ophthalmologists, and neurologists, have extensive experience and training in a particular area of veterinary medicine or surgery. Specialty clinics and university-affiliated referral centres have specialized equipment to perform procedures that are not routinely performed by general veterinary practitioners.

We make referral decisions because we want to ensure that our patients receive a high standard of care and the best possible outcome. Be assured that when we refer a patient to another hospital, we continue to stay involved with his or her care, consulting with the treating specialist and often providing any needed follow-up care and rehabilitation.

Behavioral issues can affect your pet’s well-being and your bond with them. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, aggression, excessive barking, or inappropriate elimination, we offer behavior consultations to identify root causes and recommend solutions.

We help with:

  • Puppy and kitten behavior basics

  • Separation anxiety

  • Leash reactivity and socialization

  • Litter box or house training issues

Early intervention can make a big difference—let’s work together to create a calmer, happier home.

Microchipping is a simple, permanent way to increase the chances of being reunited with your pet if they ever get lost. The process is quick, safe, and affordable—and it only takes a few seconds during a regular appointment.

Why microchip your pet?

  • It’s more reliable than a collar or tag

  • It links your pet to your contact information in a national registry

  • Shelters and clinics can easily scan and identify your pet

We recommend microchipping all pets, even those who stay primarily indoors.

Proper nutrition is the foundation of your pet’s health. At La Plaza Veterinary Clinic, we offer personalized nutritional counseling to help you make the best dietary choices for your dog or cat—at every stage of life.

NON-INVASIVE PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR YOUR PET

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Our veterinary healthcare team cares about reducing pain and offering speedy recover for many conditions your furry family member may encounter. doctorVet is a non-invasive treatment that can reduce pain, reduce swelling, stimulate healing and help re-energize your pet.

Ask us if your pet would benefit from doctorVet treatments.

LASER THERAPY

All healing begins at a cellular level. doctorVet laser therapy uses near infrared light to provide increased blood flow and increased oxygen to cells, which results in cellular bio-stimulation. doctorVet treatments have been shown to increase activity and improve mobility. doctorVet is non-invasive, soothing to the patient, and can provide solutions for:

  • CHRONIC AND ACUTE PAIN MANAGEMENT
  • WOUND HEALING
  • POST SURGICAL HEALING
  • ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY RECOVERY
  • SOME CHRONIC INFECTIONS
  • REDUCTION IN SWELLING
  • RELIEF AND RECOVER FOR SPRAINS AND STRAINS

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

Diagnosis and condition determine the number of treatments needed to see, and maintain, positive results. Some acute conditions need 1 to 3 treatments. For chronic pain conditions (arthritis, hip dysplasia, etc.) we recommend 6 treatments over a 3-week period.

HOW LONG ARE THE TREATMENTS?

Most doctorVet therapy treatments are less than 5 minutes per treatment site.

DOES IT HURT?

Patients enjoy the soothing feeling doctorVet provides during treatments. They often relax and fall asleep.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?

Typically no. Sometimes when older animals have multiple sites (hips, back, elbows) treated they may return home and want to sleep.
