MEET OUR VETERINARIAN
Dr. Nate
Medical Director, Owner
Influenced by his mom’s love of animals, who once nurtured an orphaned possum back to health, Dr. Nate grew up among sheep, dogs, and a myriad of cats in the heart of Sonoma. Growing up, his favorite cat was Cotton. Cotton would wrap himself like a shawl around his neck and follow him to school.
This connection to animals motivated Dr. Nate to pursue a degree in Zoology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he graduated with honors in 1996. After spending a few years in the pharmacy industry, as well as volunteering with AmeriCorps, a national community service organization, Dr. Nate attended veterinary school at The Royal Veterinary College in London, England, graduating in 2003.
For the past 20 years, Dr. Nate has helped care for pets at various clinics throughout the Bay Area. He has a particular interest in internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, dentistry, pharmacology, and anesthesiology. In 2026, Dr. Nate became a Fear Free Certified veterinarian to further support his commitment to strengthening the human–animal bond by reducing stress and fear during veterinary visits.
Outside of work, Dr. Nate enjoys the great outdoors with his wife, Vero, and their two children, Gigi and Ben. Camping trips are only complete when Roger, the Beagle-Dachshund mix, comes along, while their senior cat, Loulou Chat, is always happy to have the house to himself.
